John Keegan, 22, 2 Berry Lane, Darien, was arrested May 17 on charges of evading a motor vehicle accident, disobeying the signal of an officer, traveling unreasonably fast and improper turn.
Police were dispatched to the area of Weeds Landing and the Post Road just before noon on the report of a driver who had fled the scene of an accident and was eastbound on the Post Road. The driver had changed lanes too soon on the Post Road and hit the rear side of a 2007 Volkswagen and then fled, police said.

While navigating a curve on the Goodwives River Road, Keegan lost control of the car and struck a tree, according to police.
There were no reported injuries.
He posted $250 bond and was scheduled appeared in court on May 27.
