Melting Pot raising money for animal rescue groups
The Melting Pot of Darien, 14 Grove St., Darien, will host a "Fondue-Raiser" from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, to benefit Friends of Felines and Outreach for Pets in Need, which provide shelter, medical care and affection to homeless pets in Fairfield County.
Guests will have an opportunity to have a special four-course fondue meal, a portion of the proceeds of which will go directly to the animal rescue programs.
"We are very excited to partner with The Melting Pot of Darien as the restaurant has generously pledged to donate a percentage of dinner sales to help homeless cats and dogs in our community," Roxy Waters, fundraising coordinator and volunteer of Friends of Felines, said.
"This is a fun fundraising event where people share communal pots of cheeses and chocolates while learning about local animals that are in need of forever homes."
In conjunction with the dinner, there will be table of literature about Friends of Felines and OPIN with volunteers available to discuss the organizations. OPIN will also bring along a dog that is currently available for adoption.
The four-course menu is $44.95 per person; a vegetarian option is $39.95. For every prix fixe meal purchased, the restaurant will donate $5 to the two animal rescue organizations.
