NY woman allegedly shoplifted from Whole Foods in Darien

DARIEN — A 70-year-old Staten Island, N.Y. woman was charged after she allegedly shoplifted items worth more than $200 from Whole Foods.
Police responded to the alleged larceny on Jan. 16 around 5:15 p.m. The loss prevention manager told police he saw a woman place several items in a black tote bag before walking past the cash registers and out of the store without paying. A loss prevention employee confronted the woman, identified as Aida Hanna, of Sunrise Terrace.
Hanna told police she took the items, which came in at a $222.58 value. According to police, she took incense, deodorant, argan oil and various seeds. Based on her confession, police charged Hanna with sixth-degree larceny. She was released on a $200 bond with a Jan. 26 court date.
