Wood holds office hours
DARIEN — State Rep. Terrie Wood, R-141, invites her constituents to attend office hours with her on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Sugar Bowl Luncheonette in Darien. She will meet with any interested constituent for coffee and conversation from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Rep. Wood will be joined by Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson, R-Darien, for a conversation about state issues and how they affect Darien, the upcoming legislative session, the recently adopted state budget, pending legislation and other issues attendees would like to hear addressed by their state representative and town leadership.
Summer of exploration
DARIEN — Meet new friends on the forest trails, dance with dragonflies by the pond and discover the magic of the outdoors at the Darien Nature Center’s Summer Camp. This drop-off enrichment program engages children with the local landscape to help them develop an appreciation for plant and animal life. The Summer Camp runs weekly from June 18 through Aug. 3 for children ages 3 to 8. Public enrollment begins online Feb. 16. Current families and members of the Nature Center are offered advanced registration. The Darien Nature Center is located at 120 Brookside Road. YMCA summer camp
DARIEN — Darien YMCA Summer Camp registration for children ages 3-15 begins Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. for returning 2017 campers and siblings who are Darien Y members. 2018 registration on at Parks and Recreation
DARIEN — Registration for 2018 spring & summer programs offered by the Darien Parks and Recreation Departmentwill begin on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at www.darienct.gov/parkrec, in person in Room 110 of Darien Town Hall or by mail. Beach permit sales will also begin that day. Program offerings will be accessible online starting Friday, Jan. 19. The 2018 spring and summer brochure, which includes the beach permit application, will be mailed out to all Darien residents the week of Feb. 19.
An Evening of Sweet Jazz
