Norwalk man allegedly slapped woman in Darien
DARIEN — A 63-year-old Norwalk man was arrested for allegedly slapping his partner, who then sought help from a passerby on the Post Road.
On Jan. 31 around 10:10 p.m., police said they responded to 171 Post Road, the Driftwood Diner. A caller reported a woman had knocked on his car window to ask for help before walking away down the Post Road. Police went to the diner and spoke with Anastasio Anastasoglou. The Norwalk man said he’d been fighting with the woman with whom he is in a relationship. He said she left after a third party intervened in their fight. Police said they asked Anastasoglou if the fight became physical and he told them it did not.
Police said they then found the victim at the Chipotle restaurant at 71 Post Road. The victim told police Anastasoglou slapped her at one point during their argument. She said she walked away from the restaurant and banged on a car window to ask the complainant for help.
Police issued Anastasoglou a misdemeanor summons for disorderly conduct. He was given a Feb. 1 court date.
