DARIEN — A 48-year-old Norwalk woman was charged with drunk driving after she was pulled over for swerving on Tokeneke Road.

On June 26 around 1 a.m., an officer saw Christine Richards, of Avenue A, driving southbound down Tokeneke Road near Five Mile River Road. Richards’ 2016 green Subaru Forester crossed the double-yellow line into oncoming traffic and the officer pulled her over.

Richards seemed unsteady on her feet when she got out of her car for a field sobriety test. She failed the test and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and failing to drive right. A breath test at police headquarters showed Richards’ blood alcohol content at 1:56 a.m. to be .2 and .194 at 2:15 a.m., more than twice the legal limit of .08.

Richards was released on a $100 cash bond around 5 a.m. and was given a July 7 court date.
