DARIEN — Over $1,000 in camera equipment was taken from a car parked on Stephanie Lane.

On June 18 around midnight, the victim, a 24-year-old Darien man, parked his 1999 BMW M3 convertible on Stephanie Lane. When he returned to the car the next morning, he found one of the doors was ajar and the car had been entered. An $800 Canon digital camera, two Canon lenses valued at $200 each, a $100 Canon flash attachment and a $50 camera bag were all taken.

The victim told police he was sure he locked his car and thought a coat hanger may have been used to get into the car. There was no damage to the vehicle or signs of forced entry. Numerous entries into unlocked cars had been reported in the area earlier the same day.
