Ox Ridge fourth-grader Jackson Hart from Libby Wein's class was the school winner in this year's National Geographic Bee.

Each year, thousands of schools across the country participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is open to students in fourth through eighth grades and is designed to generate interest in and public awareness of geography.

Having placed first at Ox Ridge, Jackson has earned the privilege to take a test to determine if he advances onto the state level competition. Seven Ox Ridge students were finalists: fourth-grader John Phipps (second place); fifth-grader Cole Anderson (third place); fourth-grader Jackson Hart (first place); fifth-grader Tommy Ropp, fourth-grader Annie Glassmeyer; fifth-grader Folke Bruno; and fourth grader Abigail Agabs.
