A motor vehicle was broken into on Heather Lane on Aug. 30. The complainant noticed that the center console in his 2000 BMW was partially open, police said. Nothing was taken but the vehicle was unlocked at the time of the break-in.

Police arrested a man allegedly involved in a hit and run.

Larry Dennis, 50, of New Canaan, was arrested after he hit the back right corner of a Honda Odyssey on Mansfield Avenue while attempting to pass.

Police tracked Dennis to his residence where he denied being in an accident.

Dennis was charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility and unsafe passing.

He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13.

A Fairfield man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after crossing into the opposite lane several times.

Police observed Albert Winslow, 49, of Fairfield, crossing into the opposite lane on Old King's Highway at 12:45 a.m. last Wednesday. Winslow was pulled over in the parking lot of the Melting Pot where officers observed a strong odor of alchol.

Winslow posted his $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13.

Police arrested a Bridgeport woman last Friday who allegedly attempted to give officers false names.

Thomasina Fuller, 30, of Bridgeport, was arrested after officers stopped her for tinted windows and the vehicle was registered to a woman whose license was suspended.

According to the report , she told police her name was Chantel Anderson. A check showed there were no records of a Chantel Anderson, police said. After police warned her that bail would be set very high if she refused to cooperate, Fuller gave officers her real name.

Fuller was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and window tinting without a sticker.

She posted her $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13.

Police arrested a Westport man on mulitple credit card theft charges.

Zachary Hefnaway, 60, of Westport was arrested after a complainant lost his credit card and was alerted that several unauthorized charges had been made.

Hefnaway made several purchases between 3:31 p.m. and 5:31 p.m. according to police.

Hefnaway was charged with seven counts of credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and obtaining goods through the illegal use of a credit card.

A Stratford man was arrested for DWI on Saturday.

Police said Alfred Boatwright, 64, of Stratford, was observed by police driving erratically and making several U-turns. Boatwright was unable to locate his wallet after being pulled over and repeatedly asked officers if he was in New Haven.

Boatwright posted his $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 16.

A vehicle was broken into on Saturday and a couple items were taken.

A female complainant on Five Mile River Road called police after she observed her purse was missing from her friends car, police said.

A pair of sunglasses worth $160 and a shoulder bag worth $400 to $500 was taken.
