DARIEN — A drinking party of about 60 teens led to charges against the homeowners where the gathering occurred.
On Jan. 5 around 9:30 p.m., police responded to Wrenfield Lane on a report of a large underage drinking party being held at one of the homes there. When officers arrived, they found several teenagers running from the scene.
Inside the home, police said they found several teens drinking.
They spoke with the homeowners, Serge Doroshin, 61, and Anna Doroshin, 44. Both parties said they allowed their son to have “some friends over for a small party,” but more teens came than anticipated. They also said they didn’t provide any alcohol to the teens and they “did not know they were drinking.”
Officers searched the home and found obvious signs of a party. They then had to search the surrounding area for teens who’d fled the scene in below freezing temperatures. About 60 teens were determined to have been at the party.
Both Serge and Anna Doroshin were issued misdemeanor summons for failure to prevent possession of alcohol by a minor. They were released on a promise to appear in court Jan. 17. The Youth Division and Darien High School resource officer were notified for followup.
