The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization will meet on June 21 to discuss transportation policy, programs and projects that concern the South Western Region.

Action items include the endorsement of the FFY 2010-2013 and the FFY 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program. In addition, staff will present the findings and recommendations, process and outreach activities of the Greenwich-Stamford Route 1 Corridor Study. The study was completed by the South Western Regional Planning Agency and consultants in 2011.

The meeting will take place at the South Western Regional Planning Agency Offices at the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., in Stamford and will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. The meeting agenda is available online one week prior to the meeting.

The SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of the South Western Region's eight towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, and the directors of the region's transit districts.

As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.

The SWRMPO meets the fourth Thursday of every month, at either the Norwalk Transit District or the South Western Regional Planning Agency. The public is invited to participate.
