Pearce Real Estate announces agents, marketing team member
NORTH HAVEN — Barbara L. Pearce, CEO and President of Pearce Real Estate, recently announced newly hired agents and staff who recently joined the firm
Jamal Mitchell has joined the company’s New Haven office as a Residential Sales Agent. He reports to Nanette Pastore, Senior Vice President, and New Haven Office manager.
Mitchell comes to Pearce Real Estate with prior experience in real estate and healthcare. Mitchell made the decision to change careers to become a real estate agent after going through the purchase of his own home.
When asked why he chose to move to Pearce Real Estate, Mitchell said, “Pearce has a strong sense of community and teamwork. The environment is professional yet fun. I look forward to working with this team of dedicated professionals in my home town community.”
A lifelong resident of New Haven, Mitchell resides in the Westville section with his wife, a physician, and professor at Yale University, and their three young children. He is involved with community sports and organizations such as the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, the Boy Scouts of America, Guilford Basketball League, and the Jewish Community Center Basketball League team.
Jason Alaska has joined Pearce Real Estate as a Residential Sales Associate in the Guilford shoreline office. He reports to Nanette Pastore, Senior Vice President and Shoreline Office manager.
Alaska is currently a student at UCONN in Storrs and a member of the Law Society, the Business Society, and the Real Estate Society. He’s taken advanced placement courses in many subjects including Biology and Psychology and has had training from the CASA Student Leadership Program. Over the past few years, his awards include AP Scholar Award, Most Improved Student, President’s Education Awards Program — Outstanding excellence, and the Rotary Clubs’ recognition for Excellence in Business & Careers.
Alaska has resided in North Branford for the past 13 years. His hobbies include chess, hiking, running, and coffee.
“I’m a young, enthusiastic agent who likes to work with experienced real estate agents alongside me with any type of client,” he said. He says he chose Pearce Real estate because of the reputation, comradery and prior connections with other Pearce agents.
Denise Fucci recently joined Pearce Real Estate as Digital Marketing and Communications Manager.
Fucci brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to the company with a specialized focus on digital marketing, analytics and online engagement strategies. Her experience is derived from working on large-scale website projects in the corporate sector, and as an independent writer and blogger.
“As the Internet has become the most widely-used method of discovery for real estate, we are excited to be growing our digital marketing team,” said Pearce.

Litchfield County Realtors hold Legislative Night
TORRINGTON — Litchfield County Board of REALTORS®, Inc. in conjunction with the Home Builders Association of Northwest Connecticut held their annual “Legislative Night”, with over just over 100 people in attendance. The hors d’oeuvres and wine on the tables were sponsored by Torrington Savings Bank.
Litchfield County legislators in attendance included Sen. Kevin Witkos, Sen. Craig Miner, Senator Henri Martin, Rep. Bill Simanski, Rep. Jay Case, Rep. Brain Ohler, Rep. Michelle Cook, Rep. David Wilson, Rep. John Piscopo and Rep. Whit Betts.
The legislators discussed relevant issues affecting the real estate industry such as Connecticut’s budgetary issues, taxes, implementing tolls, etc. with the REALTORS® and Builders in attendance. There were several questions that were collected ahead of time which were asked of the Legislators as well as questions taken from the attendees during the program.
