A man described as "suspicious" reportedly approached an 11-year-old boy walking home from school on lower Hollow Tree Ridge Road last week, police said.

The boy said the incident took place about 3 p.m. Nov. 19, and that the unidentified man was driving a gray, four-door sedan and stopped to ask the boy if he was cold and wanted a ride home.

When the boy said no, the man -- who was the only person in the car -- drove north on Hollow Tree Ridge Road, according to the report.

The man is described as a middle-aged Asian male with mixed black-gray hair. The boy could not give any more detailed description of the vehicle.

School officials were notified by police and patrols have been stepped up in the area during the same time frame as the incident, police said.
