Roland "Londie" Gallo, a resident of Cedar Gate, Darien, since 1975 and an Army veteran, died at Stamford Hospital Wednesday, Jan. 26. He was 77

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Gallo was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Gallo, and by his oldest brother, Jules.

A manufacturing executive until his retirement, Roland enjoyed tinkering with cars and boats with his sons and working on ever-expanding house remodeling projects.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joan Schiller Gallo; two sons Keith Gallo and wife, Donna, and Bruce Gallo and wife, Joi, all of Darien; five grandchildren, Serena Gallo Nelson, Joseph Gallo, Michael Gallo, Zachary Gallo and Emilie Gallo; one great-grandchild, Rio Rose Nelson; his aunt, Mary Piscuineri, of Cupertino, Calif.; his brother, Ronald Gallo; and nephews, Jason Gallo, and Paul Gallo.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 30, at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT, from 1 to 4 p.m.
