Families gathered at the Grove Street Plaza Saturday afternoon, eagerly anticipating Santa's arrival.

The holiday festivities began around 4:30 p.m. with music performed by the Darien High School Tudor Singers, E.J. Couloucoundis and Zach Heyde. Despite the frigid temperatures, the plaza was packed with excited children and their parents as they lined up to wait for Santa.

No one had to wait long as the Big Guy soon poked his head out of the window of a neighboring business before making his way down a chimney to the cheers of the crowd.

Those willing to brave the cold for a while longer were got a chance to sit on Santa's lap and whisper their Christmas wishes in his ear.
