Sen. Duff hosts ice cream social
DARIEN — If you scream for ice cream, head on over to the Duff’s house. On Sunday, Aug. 28, Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff and his wife, Tracey, are hosting a free ice cream social at their home on 50 Toilsome Ave. in Norwalk for Darien and Notwalk residents to come and enjoy ice cream and meet their candidates.
Duff said many voters often feel like they need to go to fundraisers or other costly events to meet candidates. He said that an event like this allows him to meet voters in a more accessible setting.
"This is a great opportunity to meet with voters in a relaxed setting and listen to their ideas and concerns," said Duff.
This is the fifth time Duff will be holding such a social. He said he holds one every election years. All Democratic candidates are also invited for voters to meet.
The event will feature face painting and games. Socks the Clown will make an appearance as well. The event will go from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. No RSVP is required.
