New timetables for the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven line Metro North trains will go into effect Sunday.
Metro North announced that some adjustments will allow infrastructure work to continue on the rails while some recently-completed track work will return trains to their normal schedules.
On the Hudson line, weekday trains departing form Croton-Harmon at 5:15 a.m., 5:40 a.m., 6:37 a.m. and 8:12 a.m. will operate one minute earlier. In the evening, the 6:59 p.m. train will depart from Grand Central four minutes earlier at 6:55 and the 7:21 p.m. train from Grand Central will stop four minutes earlier at stations through Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie. Track work that started in April between Cold Spring and Beacon has been completed, so Poughkeepsie-bound weekend trains will return to a normal schedule, saving 8 to 12 minutes.
On the Harlem Line, track improvements completed between Mount Vernon West and Crestwood will allow peak service to return to the schedule used before the work began in June. Trip time on the 32 affected trains will be reduced one to six minutes. Eight mid-day trains toward White Plains and Southeast will depart from Grand Central three minutes earlier.
On the New Haven line, sixteen New-Haven-bound trains between 7:30 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. will be adjusted one to three minutes to allow construction projects to continue and reduce delays.
A full list of the changes and the new timetables can be found on the Metro North website and will also be available in Grand Central, at outlying stations, and via our Metro-North Train Time app for iPhone or Android.
