DARIEN — Several more “smash-and-grab” car burglaries were reported in town, including several at a Post Road fitness studio.

On Oct. 10, windows were broken and items stolen from three cars. The owners, customers at the Bar Method studio on Post Road, discovered the burglaries around 8:20 p.m.

The left rear window of a 2010 gray Acura MDX was smashed and a $25 silver Delux wallet was taken. The wallet contained $10 in cash, a driver’s license and six credit cards. The right rear window of a black 2016 Chevrolet Equinox was also smashed and a black $200 Italian leather purse containing a $200 Marc Jacobs wallet with a driver’s license and nine credit cards was taken. A $50 light blue Kate Spade wallet with five debit and credit cards, a driver’s license and a vehicle insurance card was also taken from a black 2013 Toyota Highlander. The front passenger window of the Highlander was smashed.

All cars had been parked in the area around 7:20 p.m.

Several days later on Oct. 15, the side rear window of a black 2010 Honda Accord was smashed while the owner, a New Jersey resident, paid respects at a relative’s grave.

The victim was at St. John’s Cemetery on Camp Avenue, visiting a relative’s grave. Between 2:50 p.m. and 3 p.m., someone smashed the driver’s side rear window of the car. Stolen was a $100 tan Vince Camuto purse, a $100 black Coach wallet, $150 in cash, an ID card and several debit and credit cards.

Police are continuing to investigate these incidents.
