Sergey Stepanenko, the best-in-show winner at the 2012 Darien Art Show and Sale, is exhibiting his artwork at Darien Town Hall.
Stepanenko, who won the solo exhibit as part of the top prize at the Darien Arts Center's annual event, will continue to hang his art in the Town Hall through the duration of the 2013 show and sale, which takes place at the DAC Weatherstone Studio from June 1 to 8.
Stepanenko, whose clients include Keith Richards, the Kennedys and Ann Eisenhower, was born in Barnaul, Russia. His works are part of many private art collections around the world and are featured in the Galerie SONO in Norwalk, Noroton Gallery in Darien and Zorya Fine Art Gallery in Greenwich.
"It was an honor to be awarded best in show," he said, "and a pleasure to realize that your work is appreciated by others. Perhaps the most important thing that I have learned from the art show is the realization of how many talented artists and art enthusiasts live in the town of Darien."
The 55th Annual Art Show and Sale is still accepting entries. The show, which offers cash awards, is open to DAC students and children and adults who live or work in Darien. Nonresidents may also enter with a donation to the DAC. Entries are welcome in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing/pastel, mixed media/printmaking, sculpture and color and black and white photography.
