A Stamford man was arrested after Darien police pulled him over for not having a license plate on the front of his car.

An officer observed Michael Anderson, 21, driving a Hyundai Elantra on Brooks Side Road without a front license plate on Feb. 1 at 9:15 a.m.. When the officer pulled Anderson over, he learned that the back plate did not match the vehicle's registration, police said. Anderson told the officer that his brother had handled the registration of the vehicle and he was not aware that the license plate was stolen, police said.

Anderson was charged with failure to register a vehicle, improper use of markers, failure to insure a vehicle, theft of plates and no driver's license, police said. He posted a $200 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11.
