DARIEN — A suspicious man standing in a private driveway was arrested on a warrant for assault dating back to 2014.
On Feb. 23 around noon, officers responded to the area of Post Road and Lighthouse Way on a report of a suspicious man standing in the area. The man had been there for a half hour. Officers found the man, Godfrey King, 51, in a private driveway around 40 feet away from the road. King, a resident of West Main Street in Stamford, told police he was walking back from Stamford and didn’t know he was on private property.
Police found King had an outstanding warrant out of Norwalk for violation of probation stemming from third-degree assault charges from an Oct. 11, 2014 incident. Police arrested King and transported him to police headquarters. He was processed, held on a $10,000 bond and brought to court on Feb. 24 for arraignment.
