DARIEN — A 21-year-old Stamford man was arrested in Woodland Park after police caught him smoking pot and found evidence he may have been dealing.
On Sept. 5 at 8:20 p.m., an officer saw a car parked in Woodland Park after the park closed at dusk. Upon going to investigate, the officer found three people on a bench and smelled marijuana. The people admitted they’d been smoking the marijuana, but didn’t have any drugs on them. The officer then checked the parked car and again smelled marijuana. A K-9 unit checked the car and sniffed out drugs. A search of the car revealed a baggie of marijuana, cash, a scale, rubber bands and empty bags, indicating the owner had been selling drugs.
The driver of the car, Oliva R. Johnson of Mead Street, said the items belonged to him. As such, the Stamford man was charged with possession and sale of marijuana. He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Court on Sept. 15.
