After three years of capital fundraising, Darien's A Better Chance program moved into its new house at 103 Tokeneke Road.

For the past 34 years, the ABC program has been housed on Brookside Road in a home the First Congregational Church provided, but the need for more space led the ABC Board of Directors to explore other options.

A donation by an ABC "angel" enabled the board to purchase the colonial house on Tokeneke Road.

With help from Fox Hill Builders, Ring's End, the Darien Foundation for Technology and Community, and others, the house has been fully renovated and expanded to accommodate this family of 10.

ABC is a non-profit organization that offers academically qualified students of color a four-year scholarship to live in Darien and attend Darien High School.

ABC will hold its final capital campaign fundraiser, a tag sale, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 11 Brookside Road.
