A 16-year-old male was assaulted while he was searching his property June 6, according to police.

The Leeds Lane resident was home alone when he called his sister to ask if he should investigate after he saw someone on the property, according to police. The teen then took a baseball bat and surveyed the front and back yards before going around the back of a shed, police said.

While he was at the shed, he told police someone came up behind him and pushed him forward, according to police. His head hit a stone wall and he sustained injuries to his face, police said. He told police he lay dazed on the ground for several minutes before going inside to call his father, who reported the incident. Police said he refused medical attention.

The victim told police that the assailant was 6 feet tall and was wearing dark clothing.
