'Tell It To The Bartender' fundraiser
Published 3:45 pm, Thursday, September 23, 2010
It¹s a long-standing tradition to tell your troubles to the bartender -- what if your bartender were in a position to do something about them? The VFW is once again offering the citizens of Darien a chance to `tell it to the bartender' -- times five.
On Thursday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m., First Selectman Dave Campbell and the entire Board of Selectmen will be the celebrity bartenders at the Darien VFW, 205 Noroton Avenue, downstairs. All are welcome. Come in, sign the guestbook and belly-up to the bar. Free hot dogs will be served. Contributions are welcome.
Guests are reminded that tipping the bartenders generously will in no way be construed as a bribe. All the tips go entirely to the VFW, enabling the Veterans of Foreign Wars to maintain its long-standing presence in the community.
This non-partisan event serves an opportunity for the community to visit the VFW, and it allows for some face-to-face interaction with the selectmen.
Tours of the historic VFW building will be conducted throughout the evening. The VFW suggests that all guests be over 21.
