Terrapins top Tigers in sixth grade Darien boys basketball
The Terrapins outlasted the Tigers 35-20 in Darien sixth grade boys basketball action Saturday at Town Hall.
John Giannattasio scored a team-high 10 points for the Terps, and Charlie Baylis chipped in with eight points. Drew Evanchick played strong defense for the Terps, Cole Armstrong swished a pretty 15-foot shot and Alex McKay added a key fast break bucket to keep momentum on the Terps' side.
The Tigers were led by Jeb Rooney, who had several agile drives on his way to six points.
The Tigers also got scoring and strong guard play from Brendon Ross and Drew Durkin while Christian Marchesi and Alex Phillips played terrific in the paint for the Tigers. Jackson McNear and Nick Karlik were also key contributors on defense.
Finishing it off for the Terps, Jack Shapter got some key late game rebounds and Patrick Burke added 10 rebounds and seven points. Max Gasvoda made some nifty passes for the Terps while dropping six points.
