DARIEN — Four Suburban SUVs at the H&L Chevrolet dealership on Boston Post Road had their wheels and rims stolen over the weekend of July 30.
According to police, the burglary occurred sometime between the evening of Saturday, July 30 and the morning of Monday, Aug. 1. All the cars were left unlocked in the lot. The suspects entered the lot through the wooden picket fence on Old Kings Highway South and got the tools to remove the tires from inside the unlocked cars.
In total, ten cars were entered, including the four that had their wheels stolen. A total of sixteen tires and rims valued at approximately $13,000 were stolen. The four vehicles were also damaged because the thieves dropped the car frames onto the ground after taking the tires. The police could not estimate cost of the damage.
