Despite being hammered by two large storms, the town is still on budget for snow removal costs.

First Selectman David Campbell said the most recent storm cost the town about $30,000. He attributed much of the cost to the amount of time spent removing snow from parking lots and sidewalks.

Campbell said the town budgets for 10 storms each year and as long as there aren't too many more large storms, the town won't be in danger of depleting the funds.

"In a worst case scenario we would transfer money out of the general fund, but we don't like to do that," Campbell said. "So far we have been able to move some money from projects in the Department of Public Works budget that wasn't being used."
