US News ranks Norwalk Hospital as state's 7th best

The hospital also is recognized in the survey as among the best hospitals in the western part of the state and for high performance in gastroenterology, according to a news release issued by the hospital.
The magazine's criteria for the rankings, according to the hospital, include patient safety measures, survival rates and other data.
"We are pleased to receive recognition from U.S. News & World Report for our efforts on behalf of our patients," Dan DeBarba, president and CEO of Norwalk Hospital, said in a statement. "We are committed to our mission of providing `uniquely excellent, innovative and compassionate health care with exceptional outcomes.' "
In addition to in-patient services, Norwalk Hospital offers out-patient services that include ambulatory surgery, gastroenterology, cardiac and vascular services, wound care, oncology, adult and pediatric clinics, women's services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiology and sleep services.
