Wallet taken while woman shops at Whole Foods
A black leather wallet was stolen from a woman's purse while she shopped at Whole Foods Market, 150 Ledge Road, on Sunday, Dec. 23, according to police.
At about 2 p.m., said police, a woman shopping with her daughter was engaged in conversation by another woman, who then left the area. When the shopper checked her purse, which she had in a cart, she discovered the wallet was missing, according to police.
Police said the female is described as approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall with a stocky build and was wearing a winter hat and a long, light green jacket.
The wallet contained approximately $60 in cash and two credit cards. Police said it was later determined that one of the credit cards had been used soon after the theft at Walmart on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk. Police said two charges totaling $1,021.76 were used to purchase gift and phone cards.
