The Darien Library and the YWCA Parent Awareness are presenting a parenting series titled "Eliminating Stress and Creating Balance in Your Child's Life" in the library's Community Room, 1441 Post Road, on two dates.

The panels will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, for parents of elementary school students and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, for parents of middle and high school students.

Both panels will be moderated by state Rep. Terrie Wood, R-141, who serves as the co-chairman of the Mental Health Working Group of the Gun Violence Bill.

Panelists on each date will speak to topics that relate to children in that particular age range. Speakers on Nov. 12 include Lavi Ben-Zvi, coordinator for student and family social services, Darien Public Schools; Christopher M. Bogart, Ph.D., executive director, the Southfield Center for Development, Darien; Luke Forshaw, principal of Ox Ridge Elementary School, Darien; Jamie Roach Murray, pediatrician, Stamford Pediatric Associates.

On Nov. 19, the speakers include Lisa Bunce, registered dietitian/nutritionist and owner of Back-to-Basics Nutrition Consulting, Redding; Bogart; Phyllis L. Weihs, psychotherapist, Fairfield University; and Eileen Whalen, psychologist, Darien High School.
