The YWCA Darien/Norwalk 's spring benefit dinner dance, The Masquerade Ball, will take place at the Country Club of Darien on March 24.

Tickets for the benefit will go on sale starting mid-February at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk website or by calling the 203-655-2535, ext. 301.

The YWCA has held a spring benefit for more than 25 years. This the theme of The Masquerade Ball invites intrigue, mystery and surprise for guests. An open bar and dinner are included at the event and guests may choose who they would like seated at their table. Guests can mingle, dine and dance at this event which includes cocktails and a sit down dinner. A silent and live auction will also be featured.

The committee for the benefit includes a number of members of the YWCA Newcomers Club as well as others who have been YWCA members for several years.

Deb Papaeconoumouis is in charge of the Masquerade Ball committee with Allison Stolar as co-chairman. Both women have extensive event planning experience for non-profit organizations. Amy Baertschi and Cecilia Matullo as co-chairmen for the auction.

This will be the first benefit with Ellen Kirby serving as the executive director of the YWCA. Kirby took her position in September 2011 and served as program and volunteer director previously.
