The eighth annual YWCA Push-n-Pull Parade will take place Wednesday, July 4.

The patriotic parade steps off from Goodwives Shopping Center in Darien at 10:30 a.m., where Mary Ann Hall's Music for Children will entertain the waiting crowd starting at 10.

The community is invited to decorate themselves and their vehicles and parade down the Post Road to Tilley Pond Park. Uncle Sam, local dignitaries and an authentic fife-and-drum band will again lead the parade. At the the park there will be live music by L'il Maestros and local food and ice cream vendors.

Pawprint Market will sponsor a doggy watering station for thirsty dogs. The free event headlines Darien's Independence Day celebrations. Donations will be accepted in the park and will benefit the community service programs of the YWCA.
