Ernesto Marroquin, 30, of 370 Summit St., Bridgeport, was arrested on Wednesday, March 13, on a charge of sixth-degree larceny.
Police said they received a complaint on Feb. 2 from an individual who said that on Jan. 31 he was at Darien Social having dinner, and left the restaurant at approximately 9 p.m. but forgot his backpack. When he returned to retrieve the bag, police reported, it was gone. The bag contained an iPad mini, headphones and other items.
Police said the complainant used the iPad's locator app to track it to the intersection of Summit Street and Lindley Street in Bridgeport. Police said Marroquin, a Darien Social employee, lived at the location. When confronted, he admitted to the theft and returned the iPad, according to the report. The other items had been thrown away and they were unable to be recovered, said police.
He was released on a written promise to appear in court date on Monday, March 25.
