Mississippi man accused of shooting 13-year-old boy
COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man accused of shooting a 13-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated assault.
The Commercial Dispatch reports 18-year-old Brylen Lataveon Gore was arrested Monday. He was charged Wednesday. Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton says Gore is accused of shooting the boy on June 26. The boy's identity has not been released.
Police say the boy was walking along a road with his brother and another person when Gore shot him in the leg. The boy was taken to a hospital in Jackson. He was released earlier this week. It's unclear if Gore has a lawyer.
