The Darien boys cross country team improved to 11-0 on the season with wins over Ridgefield (15-50), Norwalk (15-50) and Fairfield Warde (15-50) Tuesday afternoon.

Ranked as the No. 6 team in Connecticut, the Blue Wave secured all of the top seven spots in the 3.1-mile race. Senior captain Alex Ostberg finished first at 17:04, followed closely by junior Armstrong Noonan (17:10).

After Darien's top duo crossed the finish line, Arthur Cassidy (18:34), Jack Consolini (18:35), Brendan Triano (18:42), James Johnson (18:42) and Jack Murray (18:49) came in behind them.

"We have some excellent competition coming in the next couple of weeks," Wave coach Tyson Kaczmarek said. "We have to keep working hard."

Meanwhile, the Darien girls cross country team also improved to 11-0 with a complete sweep, albeit by slimmer margins.

The Wave girls edged Ridgefield, 27-28, before taking care of Fairfield Warde (23-37) and Norwalk (15-50). Senior Anne Johnston finished with the meet's best time at 20:06, which registered 45 seconds ahead of the second-place runner, Ridgefield's Hannah Mercorella.

Next week, both Blue Wave squads will travel to Greenwich for a meet with the Cardinals, New Canaan, Stamford and Trinity Catholic on Tuesday.

Entering yesterday's competition, the Rams boys cross country team owned a 5-1 record after two home meets, and the Greenwich girls stood at 5-3.
